I had to jump many hurdles to complete these exercises and without the help of my co-workers it may not have happened. I learned way more than I had anticipated and my thoughts were "so that's how they did that." Will I use any of the web features I've learned doing these exercises? Maybe, maybe not and I'm sure I'll participate again if I get training credits for it. If it were not for this program I would have never sought out this type of new technology. Well done!!!
This program can improve by shortening the number of activities. The number 23 alone was intimidating.

#22 NetLibrary
NetLibrary is a bit overwhelming for me right now because I have over 1,000 ebook titles to create a link from our catalog to NetLibrary. Ebooks will be very useful to a lot of people and I am sure in my mind I'm making it harder than it is. I have a list of titles for our library so I looked them up in NetLibrary and found the title piece of cake piece pie.

#21 Podcast
The podcast I listened to was The DaVinci Code: A Quest For Answers by Josh McDowell. The podcast was a book review discussing fact or fiction as it relates to the The DaVinci Code by Dan Brown. Each person contributed to the discussion stating their opinions and personal research on the books many topics. This would be useful to libraries that have book clubs to include those club members that are unable to attend. As well as advertise the library.
#20 YouTube
It is understandable why YouTube is so popular. Watching videos at work was a pleasant change. The reason why I chose Madea’s Class Reunion was it changed my outlook on life at a time when I really needed to laugh. My hat off to Tyler Perry for creating such a memorable and soul stirring play. I get the underlying message and those in need will as well. Laughter can be the best medicine during life’s ups and downs.
YouTube is easy to navigate and I enjoyed using it. You can make your own video advertisement download it YouTube to showcase your library.

#19 2.0 Award
I think Biblio.com is very use for patrons doing research. A lot of books are no longer in print and may not be found using electronic resources. For collectors signed copies, rare collections, and first editions can be found using this sight.
#18 Zoho
I remember the old word processors and it is truely a dinosaur compared to Zoho and Google Docs. I enjoyed playing with Zoho and will probably use it again. This is technology I can really use.
#16/17 Wiki/sandbox
In public libraries, where the technological skills of employees can range from high to non-existent, wikis can allow everyone the ability to develop the website. The resulting website would reflect the imagination and good ideas of the entire organization, not just a select few with the requisite “tech-savvy.”
Okay so I'm not "tech-savvy" so I can relate to the purpose of creating a Wiki, but I still wouldn't use it. It's nice to know it is there if needed.

#15 Library 2.0
I have been cataloging since June 2007 and the process is still new to me. I found my way onto the OCLC site and I am still unsure of all of it's uses. It has been fun using OCLC and has made learning my job alot easier. I'm looking forword to the changes.
#14 Technorati
Whatever this exercise was about I didn't get it. I looked at it, and after several atempts I decided it was all flem flam. Technorati will work for someone, but not me.
#13 Del.icio.us
I understand the great need to bookmark and tag, it's like one stop shopping. Everything you need in one location so you don't have to search all over for what you know you really need everytime you log on to the internet from any location. This is good stuff.

These are some of the websites that I go to with my son to look at the transformers that he loves so much. My son loves to go on and watch the transformers transform and to listen to the music that plays on the websites. All of these websites are on my home computer so I am not sure I will ever use these program I am not computer savvy so it is easier to just go to my favorites and find the website.
This might be good to have on the library computers with the different websites that are search engines that they can find different books and information with out having to look for the webpages.
Excercise 11
OK so here is a list of some of the books that I like to read. I am not sure if I will ever get back on this web site. This is a good thing for people who read a lot of books or for a book club to have. We may want to let some of the retired personel know about this website because they come in with pages and pages of books that thay have read and it maybe easier for them to find out what they have or have not read. Being that I work fulltime and have a child I do not have a lot of time to read for plesure so I don't have very many books to keep track of that I have read and my family members do not use the computer for stuff like this.
#10 Image Generator
I spent a little more time than usual playing on the image generator sites. I really enjoyed playing around with the different generator programs. I had fun making a M&M person even though I did not post it on my blog. I did not find one that I thought would work with library programs. Some of them might work for advertising pruposess.
#9 Bloglines
I searched the web for news feed and found a few that I liked. I had some difficulties with the exerice, but found some interesting articles. I will continue to play with it until it becomes easier.

#3 Blogging
I can't quite wrap my brain around blogging. I mean the whole point of it. Maybe by the end of this project and learning new technolgy I will get it. Outside of work I rarely log on to my computer. I don't know if I'll ever blog again, but bring it on.

#7 New Technologies
I am not one of those people who have to have the latest gadget. Frankly a lot of the new gizmos I don't even own. I don't understand why people who purchased the iPhone for $600 in June and now it's $200 less (and dropping) in September are so upset. You wanted to be a big shot and show it off to all your friends and co-workers and say "nanny nanny boo boo look what I have and you don't." I can afford to buy it at full price and you'll have to wait until the sale. Suck it up!! In six months there will be a new iPhone with better features and you'll do it all over again.

#5 Flickr
Flickr may have a good purpose, but it's not for me. I don't find intrest in others photo albums. However for graphics to make signs, posters, brochures etc. it comes in handy.
